March 27th my book club got together to discuss Love Finds you in Last Chance, California by Miralee Ferrell. I arranged for her to come to our book club since she lives in Washington state. I also arranged a book signing for her at Borders. She stayed with me and we had a wonderful visit. Our book club had so much fun and were very excited to have her there. The book signing was good as well.

MY BOOK CLUB BOOKS March 28, 2009

I just thought I would share the books that we have read through my book club. We are fairly new, but we have read some excellent books and met some wonderful authors.
Our first book was Ruby Among Us by Tina Ann Forkner. This was a very good start to our first book club.
Our second book was The Outsider by Ann H. Gabhart.  Ann spoke to us at our book club via phone.
Our third book was an Irishwoman’s Tale.  Patti also called during our book club even though she was out of town. She was very fun to talk with and brought to light more aspects of the story that we were not aware of and gave a whole new spin on it. That time we met at Borders and thought it would be too loud to have speaker phone while sitting in the coffee shop so we talked to her while sitting in my car. It was very cozy.
Our fourth book was Last Light by Terri Blackstock. This was the first book we read that wasn’t a fairly new release. One of the gals in our club had it and recommended it so we tried it. We were definitely not disappointed. This book has made me look at my life in a whole new light and consider making changes to my everyday tasks. Every one of us read the rest of the series as well because we were so into the story.
Our fifth book was Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers. Of course, after reading the first we all read through the rest of the series because you couldn’t go without doing that. Oh man, if you haven’t read these books you should put them on your list.
Our sixth and current book is Love Finds you in Last Chance, California by Miralee Ferrell. We will be having our meeting with her on March 27th and we’re meeting at my church because she is coming in person and it was advertised in the newspaper, as well as her book signing for the following day at Borders. We are so excited to have her coming and have been inviting friends like crazy.

My daughter was thinking while she was sitting at the computer, and just decided to write a little story. Here are her thoughts. I thought it was kind of cute.

Today I looked at a spider web in the window and I thought of the world from a spider’s point of view. I imagined the spider web in my window as a mansion because it was fairly big. I imagined every spider having to travel really far to go to a friend’s house because all the spider webs are in different houses. I thought that spiders have only one neighbor or less because not very many spiders live in one house. At least I hope only a few spiders live in my house, because I really dislike spiders.
